I Am A Pilot are a six piece alternative outfit, formed in the dark depths of a Hackney beer cellar last summer and that small acorn they planted is quickly growing into a majestic Oak tree. By using a delicate balance of proud folky sing-alongs and dark harmonious melodies, I am a pilot suck you in and lead you on a journey that really captures the intensity of a modern, Archaic London.

Lead singer Fynan’s dynamic song writing abilities account poetic tales of murder, tomfoolery, bad love, and spirituality. Drawn from real experiences, these stories give an honest yet poetic view of everyday life, “Then you’ll float away on the bones of songbirds and writers and as our bodies sink so your heart will grow lighter.”

I am A Pilot’s interesting stage setup sets them aside from many of the other live acts in Greater London. The days of your run of the mill four piece outfit are over. Led by the male/female dual lead singer combo of Jas and Fynan’s unique and beautiful voices the enchanting melodies are beaten along by Leeroys intense pounding technical percussion, I am A Pilot use their solid guitar work, fluid keys and the skills not only of a cellist but also a Violinist to create a new Folktronic, Alternative, Country adventure. The advantage of being quite a large band is you can never have too many voices and its quite an experience to hear all six pilots singing at the top of their lungs.
